Isaiah 25: Praise God for His Grace and Faithfulness
GK611 Morning Devotion
19/05/2022
Speaker: IP Daniel Kew
Introduction:
God will judge the tyrannical and arrogant, and bring sweetness to His people who have suffered. Therefore, God’s people should praise this God who is gracious and faithful.
I. Praise God for His Faithful Deeds (V1-5)
1. The fulfilment of God’s promises (V1-3)
What God has “ordained in ancient times” is His unchanging principle of good and bad. No matter how rich and noble those Gentiles who do not fear God are, they will eventually be judged by God, and they must fear and surrender to the mighty God.
Those who truly trust God are those who are confident that God’s promises will be fulfilled!
2. God being the protection of the poor (V4-5)
God is the judge of the wicked, but the protection and refuge of the poor and needy! Those who trust God but in distress, God promises to protect them!
God can make the strong become weak. Those who rely on power to do evil, God will eventually make them as if the heat is absorbed by the shadow of the cloud.
When we are strong, if we keep our hearts in humility and love the Lord, we will always be blessed. Because the Lord is the source of blessings.
II. Praise God for His wonderful salvation (V6-9)
1. Rejoice in God’s salvation (V6, 9)
This verse speaks of the wonderful salvation that God has prepared for all nations! Isaiah prophesied that God would prepare a feast for all nations on the holy mountain. All of God’s chosen children will one day enjoy an eternal feast of joy with God.
Today we can have the hope of being saved and enjoy the fullness and joy of the kingdom of heaven on this earth, all because of God’s salvation!
2. Victory over death by God’s salvation (V6-8)
God’s feast is also a celebration of the victory over death. The inescapable fate of death prophesied here that God will end death! Because the resurrection of the Lord Jesus will overcome death! All who believe in the Lord will also have victory over death! And all tears will be wiped away, all shame, pain and ignorance will also be taken away!
III. Praise God for His righteous judgment (V10-12)
Here we see that V10 God’s hand is on His people, but His foot is trampled on Moab. It is to remind us that in the last days, God has both grace and judgment, and God is a God of grace and justice. Because Moab’s arrogant was a representation of against God. Proud people should not participate in the feast of God, and if they do not receive God’s grace, they can only fall into the dunghill and struggle in the cesspool.
God’s righteous judgment reminds us that no matter how strong it is, God can topple it and tear it down, and God will judge and remove it! This is ordained by God!
Conclusion: Praise God for His Grace and Faithfulness!
Because what God has promised must be fulfiled! Because of God’s salvation, we can be joyfully with God forever! To enjoy the eternal feast of the kingdom of God!

Isaiah 24: God’s Judgment on the World
GK611 Morning Devotion
18/05/2022
Speaker: IP Stella Ling
Introduction:
God sent prophecies to the nations and Israel through the prophets in the hope that they would repent. However, after he repeatedly spoke and the nations still did not respond, God had to judge the whole earth, meaning that only in the last days, that is, “in that day”, will mankind turn over.
1. The whole earth was empty and desolate (v1-13)
(1) The earth was a total emptiness (v1-3)
In fact, the consequences of man’s sin had a great impact, and from here we see that not only man suffers the bitter consequences of sin, but even the land was implicated.
(2) The remaining people are scarce (v4-6)
The earth is judged because the world had rebelled against the will of God, the spiritual Father and Helper. Verse 7 describes many people were cursed by God and burned with fire, so that there were few left.
(3) Demolition of the desolate city (v7-12)
Moreover, in a desolate city without God, man wanted to establish his own order and had to
maintain security by himself, so he built walls. But the result was that “all the gates of the city were destroyed,” and man’s efforts to save himself came to naught.
2. Proclaiming judgment and revival (v.13-23)
(1) The remnant praises the name of the Lord (v13-16)
All the earth is judged in the eyes of God, and only the islands of the sea are left. The islands of the sea are separated from the great mass of land, and will be revived and finally return to the earth, causing a complete overturning. Man also throws away all the idols he used to worship, and “glorifies the name of the Lord, the God of Israel” (v15) alone.
(2) The earth is totally destroyed (v17-20)
The windows of heaven are opened, reminding us of the flood that flooded the whole world in the days of Noah, and of the amazing earthquakes that make the earth seem to be drunkenly tossed about and shaken like a hammock. At that time no one on earth will escape the judgment of God. Therefore, man’s sin does not affect him alone, but also the sky and the earth.
(3) God reigns in Zion (v21-23)
Verses 21-23 are marked by “in that day” (v21), announcing the first result that “the day of the LORD” will bring: after the desolate cities of the world are dealt with, God will return to Zion and gloriously “reign in Jerusalem”.
Conclusion:
Man wants to seek security and prosperity by himself and take salvation into his own hands. However, it often turns out to be the opposite, the earth is defiled by its inhabitants, the ground is swallowed up by the curse, and the whole world becomes a “desolate city” without order or meaning (v10). However, then God “will reign on Mount Zion, in Jerusalem” (v23), as it says in Revelation 21:3, “He will dwell with men, and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God”.

Isaiah 23: Let The Goods Be Holy To The Lord
GK611 Morning Devotion
17/05/2022
Speaker: IP Moses Ou
Introduction:
The deadly cycle of making money, getting married, having children, and then having them make money again’ is all because people live without a godly mission ……
1. The Fall of Tyre Caused by Pursuing after Goods and Wealth Alone (V1-14)
It was by the hand of the Lord God’s judgment that the proud nation of Tyre, which was concerned only with making money, and not with the things of God, experienced its downfall.
2. Tyre, Whose Goods and Wealth Can be Used by the Kingdom of God (V15-18)
After 70 years, Tyre was restored to commerce with other places by God’s mercy, and the goods it had gained were to be used by the kingdom of God.
Conclusion:
The power of a man to obtain goods comes from the Lord God, so that what comes from the Lord should also come to the Lord. Let us learn from the lesson that Tyre experienced to sanctify our goods and possessions. Whether we are working or doing business today, we must have a willingness to put up the goods we receive to be used by God. We must be sure that God will provide us with all our daily needs in abundance. Let us not follow the world’s deadly cycle of ‘generation after generation of people making money and pursuing a more materialistic life’ because of future worries or greed, but let us see the needs of God’s kingdom and live a life of mission!

Isaiah 22: Lamentations of the Holy City
GK611 Morning Devotion
13/5/2022
Speaker: Rev Moses Li
Introduction:
Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.
1. The debacle in the Valley of Vision (V1-5)
The “valley of vision” is not a landscape, but a “valley” because of the mountains that surround Jerusalem (Ps. 125: 2). Another way to say this valley is the “valley of Jehoshaphat”, a valley between Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives. God helped the Israelites to get out of the hand of the enemy. When they were victorious, they did not give glory to God.
2. The people who refused to change till the end (V6-14)
God disciplines the people through war. He made their choices valley full of chariots, and had horsemen arrayed before the gates of the city. But the people of God did not repent and look to God, but relied on the weapons in the treasury.
3. Shebna was abandoned (V15-19)
And God said to Isaiah, “Go to Shebna, and say to him, ‘What have you here, and whom have you
here, That you have hewn a sepulcher here, As he who hews himself a sepulcher on high, This act shows extravagance, arrogance, and unrepentant behavior.
4. Eliakim was called (V20-25)
The “keys of the house of David” represent the possession of the authority of the royal house of David. Eliakim was given the great responsibility of opening and closing the doors and rooms of the royal palace in Jerusalem. Eliakim was given a very important position, but it is not comparable to the Holy One of Israel, for there is no other name under heaven and earth given to us for salvation except Jesus Christ, the Messiah and Saviour.
Conclusion:
Give thanks for all that we have now, which is by God’s grace. If there are some sudden circumstances, don’t be too busy to solve them and let them change, but always ask: What are you going to do, O God. O God, what is your highest destiny for my life.

Isaiah 21: God’s Revelation, People to Reflect
GK611 Morning Devotion
12/5/2022
Speaker: IP Daniel Kew
Isaiah 21
Introduction:
There are three divine revelations in this chapter. We need to reflect on whether we can fully trust the sovereign God with His revelation.
I. The Fall of Babylon: All idols were smashed (V1-10)
1. The prophet receives tragic vision (V1-4)
The vision that the prophet Isaiah received was that a great slaughter would come to destroy Babylon, hence the prophet was shocked and distressed when he saw it! We as Christians do not gloat when the enemy is destroyed. Even though we know that it is God’s judgment, we will still feel sad.
2. The Prophet speaks the ending of the fall (V5-10)
The prophet saw that Babylon, though powerful, would eventually perish. Not only will the wicked Babylon collapses in the end, but all the idols will be smashed to pieces.
In today’s world, many people have their own idols. Although they do not worship gods, they still have their own idols in their hearts: material things, power, beauty, and there are many idols that cannot be thrown away. If we were to live among such idols, we would perish with them!
II. Edom’s Suffering: Always in the Darkness (V11-12)
As for the vision of Edom, it exemplifies the dark future of Edom. If one doesn’t turn back, repent and seek God, even if there is a short period of peace, one will suffer again, and will always be in dark time!
Many people today, like Edom, regard God as one of the idols for seeking help, and if they don’t get an answer right away, they turn to other idols and never come back. They only care about their own future, not God’s will. In fact, God wants to test and strengthen our faith through problems and difficulties, and God will eventually open a way out for us.
III. The demise of Arabia: All the glory is gone (V13-17)
As for the vision of Arabia, when it comes to Dedan, Tima, and Kedar, they are all tribal cities in Arabia. When the Assyrians invaded, they relied on each other to help each other, completely ignoring the God who is in control, as such, they could not escape from doomed in the end, and all glory was lost within a year.
If we rely solely on our own intelligence and ability to solve problems, we are relying on the glory of men, and the result is that we cannot protect ourselves and our ‘glory’ will be lost. This was because we ignore that our future is completely under God’s control! When we truly trust God, we must give glory to God and do what God tells us to do!
Conclusion:
The nations are judged by God’s revelation. Today we must reflect on the fact that no matter whether Babylon, Edom or Arabia, they will be unable to defend themselves when under attack. Therefore, all alliances that abandon God are unreliable, and only God is truly dependable!
It also reminds us that no matter whether the future is known or unknown, only God is in control of our tomorrow and can lead us to the light in the dark world!

Isaiah 20: The God Who Never Stops Showing Mercy
GK611 Morning Devotion
11/5/2022
Speaker: IP Stella Ling
Introduction:
Although God repeatedly warned His people through the prophets, they did not listen, but this did not stop God from continuing to show His love and mercy to them.
1. Bringing out the warning by action (V1-4)
God acted through Isaiah in order that His people could have a profound impact, so that they would know that God would humiliate what they looked up to when they did not look to Him but went to other powers.
2. Use message to bring the people back (V5-6)
God wanted the people of Judah to know that all the earth belonged to God, that God was in power, and that God was using His beloved servant to do so, so that Israel would know that God was the one he should look to, and that the conclusion was that it was right to look upon God properly.
Conclusion:
The never-ending love of God is manifested so that His people may turn and come to Him again!
