【摩押自毁之路的警示】

一、城邑遭毁因为靠己(V1-10)

这段经文显示了摩押人依靠坚固的城邑、丰富的资源和自身的能力,以为这样就能确保安稳和繁荣。但神透过耶利米先知宣告,这些表面的安全感终究会崩塌。耶和华的审判临到,摩押的城邑将成为荒场遭受毁灭。

这里清楚地说到不倚靠神,倚靠自己的成就和财富的人终将毁灭;虽然活着,却被世界所俘虏,甚至被世界追着跑,没有自由,无法活出丰盛的生命。摩押城邑的遭毁提醒我们,唯有把信心建立在神,才能有真正的安全感。

二、崇拜偶像使人蒙羞(V11-25)

摩押人以偶像基抹为守护神,他们以为是基抹保护他们安全和安逸,生活富足,但忘了一切都是神的恩典。摩押人将自己的未来交托给虚假之神,最终走向灭亡蒙羞。

虚假信仰不仅存在于偶像崇拜,还表现在人们对物质、成就、关系等的依靠。当这些事物成为我们生命的中心,取代了神的地位,就成了‘现代偶像’。当大难临头时,这种偶像不但无法帮助人,反而使人陷入绝望蒙羞。唯有敬畏神,在急难的时候不至羞愧!在饥荒的日子必得饱足!(诗37:19)

三、骄傲自负引人灭亡(V26-35)

神之所以严厉审判摩押,是因为:摩押人是极其骄傲,自高自傲,并且狂妄,居心自大(V29)。摩押的自负源于他们所享有的物质财富,认为自己足以应对任何挑战,并因此轻视神的警告。

这段经文提醒我们,要时刻警惕心中的骄傲。骄傲会让我们不愿接受批评,忽视神的引导,以至于走向孤立和失败。现代社会中,许多人因成就而产生骄傲,将自己的能力和地位当作不可动摇的根基,甚至认为可以不依靠神。神在这里提醒我们,若无谦卑的心,无论地位多高,最终也会因骄傲而跌倒,因为骄傲在败坏以先,狂心在跌倒之前。

四、神的审判无人逃脱(V36-46)

在这一段中,耶利米先知传达了神对摩押人的最终审判。尽管摩押人试图通过各种方式来躲避,神会像打碎没人要的瓦器一样击打摩押,处处有人哀哭,摩押的勇士会表现出女人分娩时的痛苦和恐惧,摩押必被毁灭,不再成国。

摩押人试图躲避神的审判,但最终发现自己的罪无所遁形。神藉此警示我们,无论在人前如何隐藏罪恶,终究无法在神面前掩盖。唯有悔改和依靠神的怜悯,才能找到真正的平安与出路。

总结:神有怜悯的归回路(V47)

V47 耶和华说,到末后,我还要使被掳的摩押人归回。摩押受审判的话到此为止。
摩押自毁的结局不是必然,而是他们自己选择的结果!
选择不悔转就是自毁之路,选择悔改就有归回的路!

1. The city was destroyed because of relying on oneself (V1-10)

This passage shows that the Moabites relied on fortified cities, abundant resources, and their own abilities, thinking that this would ensure stability and prosperity. But God announced through the prophet Jeremiah that these superficial feelings of security would eventually crumble. The judgment of the LORD will come and the cities of Moab will become desolate and destroyed.

It is clearly stated here that those who do not rely on God and rely on their own achievements and wealth will eventually be destroyed; although they are alive, they are captured by the world and even chased by the world. They have no freedom and cannot live an abundant life. The destruction of the cities of Moab reminds us that only by establishing our faith in God can we have true security.

2. Worshiping idols brings shame to people (V11-25)

The Moabites used the idol Chemosh as their patron saint. They thought it was Chemosh that kept them safe, comfortable and prosperous, but they forgot that everything was the grace of God. The Moabites entrusted their future to false gods and ultimately perished and were disgraced.

False faith not only exists in idol worship, but also in people’s reliance on material things, achievements, relationships, etc. When these things become the center of our lives and replace God, they become ‘modern idols’. When disaster strikes, this kind of idol not only fails to help people, but instead plunges them into despair and shame. Only by fearing God will you not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine you shall be satisfied! (Psalm 37:19)

3. Pride and arrogance lead to destruction (V26-35)

The reason why God judged Moab severely was because the Moabites were extremely proud, arrogant and haughtiness (V29). Moab’s conceit stemmed from the material wealth they enjoyed, believing that they were sufficient to meet any challenge, and thus they disregarded God’s warnings.

This passage reminds us to always be wary of pride in our hearts. Pride can lead us to be unwilling to accept criticism and ignore God’s guidance, leading to isolation and failure. In modern society, many people are proud of their achievements. They regard their abilities and status as an unshakable foundation, and even think that they can no need to rely on God. God reminds us here that without a humble heart, no matter how high your status is, you will eventually fall because of pride, because pride precedes corruption, and an arrogant heart precedes a fall.

4. No one can escape God’s judgment (V36-46)

In this passage, the prophet Jeremiah delivers God’s final judgment on the Moabites. Although the Moabites tried to evade in various ways, God would smite Moab like an earthen vessel that no one wanted, and there would be mourning everywhere. Moab’s warriors would show the pain and fear of a woman giving birth, and Moab would be destroyed and will no longer be a kingdom.

The Moabites tried to hide from God’s judgment, but ultimately found that their sin was unavoidable. God uses this to warn us that no matter how we hide our sins in front of others, we cannot hide them in front of God. Only by repenting and relying on God’s mercy can we find true peace and a way out.

Conclusion: God has a merciful way of return (V47)

V47 Yet I will bring back the captives of Moab. In the latter days, says the Lord.
Thus far is the judgment of Moab.

The outcome of Moab’s self-destruction is not inevitable, but the result of their own choice! Choosing not to repent is the path to self-destruction, choosing to repent is the path to return!

【神对非利士人的审判】

引言:

从昨天的耶46开始一直到耶51,都是在强调神对以色列外围的外邦国家施行审判。昨天提到埃及会遭遇到巴比伦军队的攻击。而今天47章的内容更是针对神要要以巴比伦军队审判非利士人。

一、神为何审判非利士人?(v1-4)

1.侵略与压迫神的子民

非利士人是以色列人的长期敌人。他们的恩怨持续了数个世纪,主要集中在士师时代至列王的时期。他们曾多次侵略和压迫以色列百姓。撒上 4提到,非利士人击败以色列军队并夺走神的约柜。他们还污秽神的圣物,进一步羞辱神的选民,展示他们的敌对和压迫。此外,为了防止以色列人制造刀枪来反抗,非利士人联合其他民族控制并压制以色列人,严格管制铁器的使用。

神预言审判非利士,是为了使犹大人认识到,在神的时间里,神不止审判属自己的百姓,神也必以公义来审判一切抵挡以色列民的国家。

所以弟兄姐妹,如果你不是因为犯罪而处在困难逼迫中,一定要相信神是公义的。神的审判是公正的,也是按祂时间表进行的。尽管敌人可能看起来短期内得逞,但神的公义会在最终的时刻彰显,将降临毁灭仇敌。

2.那绊倒人的必受审判

非利士拜的神明是大衮,以及迦南人最崇敬的巴力西卜。从士师记 10:6 还有撒母耳记多处的经文,记载了非利士人试图通过偶像崇拜和异教信仰腐化以色列人与神的关系,绊倒他们导致偏离真道,走向偶像崇拜和堕落的道路。

耶稣在 路加福音17:1-2里说过,那绊倒人的有祸了。 尤其是作为基督徒的我们,如果我们的行为绊倒另外一个人,使人远离神,以致灵魂失丧,这便是大祸。就像非利士人一样,免不了要遭神的审判。

我们的生命或言行举止是否还会不小心绊倒人呢?比如,在言语上对信仰表现热情出,在行为上却缺乏爱心或真诚、平时在工作上论断上司和批判同事、过于急切地传福音,给他人施加压力,使人反感。又或者在信仰中表现出自高自大、缺乏谦卑的心。生活放纵、追求享乐,甚至在经济、性格或工作上不诚实等。

让我们的生命活出信仰的真实性与有吸引力的见证,不绊倒人。

3.保持信仰中立敌基督

推罗和西顿是腓尼基的海港,是整个地中海最繁荣的贸易中心。推罗和西顿因其繁荣而心生骄傲,自认为神,并以其财富和地位自夸。当非利士欣赏并与之结盟,就是与神为敌,所以在神眼中同样要受审判。不但如此,推罗和西顿为了自己的利益,常出卖以色列,将犹大和耶路撒冷人卖为奴。因此我们看到,推罗和西顿、甚至非利士都是没有立场的只图自身的利益,哪里对自己有好处就靠那边站与他结盟。结果都要被神审判和灭绝。

弟兄姊妹,我们必须认清自己的信仰立场,绝不能因为怕而妥协。若应该表明立场支持真理,与主同站时,我们却因为环境压力、社会期待或某些原因缄默不语,这也就是变相的抵挡真理、敌基督。必会被神审判。

4.彻底剪除罪恶的根源

迦斐托海岛,也称为克里特岛,是非利士人祖先居住之地,是他们的起初的根源地。神对非利士的审判是彻底的将其根源拔除。这教导我们对付生命里的罪,绝不可姑息,一定要认真的彻底剪除罪恶的根源。正所谓斩草不除根春风吹又生。

二、神的审判几时才止息?(v5-7)

很多时候当人在被审判或被神管教的时候,都会希望神可以怜悯,让这些苦难快快过去。但就像非利士人一样,当他们问神审判几时才止息?神反而问他们,“你用刀划身,要到几时呢?所以,若希望神可以止息审判,我们就要:

1.懂得尊重身体

耶利米说神审判临到,当迦萨成完全被夷为平地、亚实基伦归於无有时,非利士人的情景将会像外邦人用刀划身那样的哀恸。

当亲人去世,迦南人会用刀划身以示悲哀,这是迦南的风俗。他们在拜偶像时,也会以此方式敬拜,因此利未记里已提到这是神所禁止的。

现在很多年轻人被世属同化,认为刺青是一种艺术。但圣经老早提到用刀割身体是神所不喜悦的。

此外,身体是神所创造的,是主耶稣基督用生命赎回的,在遇到艰难绝望时,我们无权破坏它或轻易就想要结束生命。经文提醒我们爱惜自己的身体。作为圣灵的殿,我们更不要以迦南的风俗或拜偶像的仪式使到我们的身体被玷污。比如,犯奸淫、通奸、色情、手淫等。此外,滥用毒品或酒精、饮食过度或不健康生活方式,懒惰与缺乏锻炼、没有给予合理的休息,都是伤害神所给我们的身体。虽然锻炼身体不能取代属灵成长,安有健康才能更好地服事神,活出荣神益人的生命。

2.懂得真实悔改

V6-7 耶利米描述了当非利士人在被审判,极其痛苦悲伤的时候,他们会向神发出哀求,希望神的刀剑能止息。神并没有答应。

神为什么要让耶利米对着非利士人来发预言?按神怜悯慈爱的属性,相信只要非利士人愿意悔改,神必会给他们出路。但很可惜,他们想要神停止刀剑,却不愿意真实的悔改。结果就真的灭亡了。

让我们的悔改不是为了摆脱痛苦,而是发自内心的悔改。并带来属灵生命的转变,重新走向神的祝福。

总结:

在5785年赎回的恩典和这40天与神筑梦的祷告里,让我们拥有真实悔改的生命。彻底剪除生命中罪恶的根源、勇敢持守信仰的立场和赎回身体在属灵或肉身上的健康。让我们的生命不但不绊倒人,反而要成为吸引众人归向主、脱离永死的审判。

Introduction:

From yesterday’s Jeremiah 46 to Jeremiah 51, they all emphasize God’s judgment on the foreign countries outside Israel. Yesterday it was mentioned that Egypt would be attacked by the Babylonian army. And today’s chapter 47 is more about God’s plan to use the Babylonian army to judge the Philistines.

1. Why does God judge the Philistines? (v1-4)

(1) Invasion and oppression of God’s people

The Philistines were Israel’s long-standing enemies. Their feud lasted for centuries, mostly from the time of the Judges to the time of the Kings. They invaded and oppressed the people of Israel many times. 1 Samuel 4 mentions that the Philistines defeated the Israelite army and took away the ark of God. They also defiled God’s holy things, further humiliated God’s chosen people, and demonstrated their hostility and oppression. In addition, in order to prevent the Israelites from making swords and guns to resist, the Philistines united with other peoples to control and suppress the Israelites and strictly controlled the use of iron tools.

God prophesied the judgment of the Philistines in order to make the people of Judah realize that in God’s time, God would not only judge His own people, but God would also judge all nations that resisted the Israelites with righteousness.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, if you are not in difficulty and persecution because of sin, you must believe that God is righteous. God’s judgment is just and takes place according to His timetable. Although the enemy may seem successful in the short term, God’s justice will be revealed in the final moment and will come to destroy the enemy.

(2) Those who offend others will be judged

The gods worshiped by the Philistines were Dagon and Baalzebub, whom the Canaanites revered most. From Judges 10:6 and many passages in the Book of Samuel, it is recorded that the Philistines tried to corrupt the relationship between the Israelites and God through idolatry and pagan beliefs, stumbling them away from the true way and leading to idolatry and the path of depravity.

Jesus said in Luke 17:1-2, Woe to him who offends. Especially as Christians, it would be a great disaster if our behavior stumbles another person and causes him to stray away from God, causing his soul to be lost. Just like the Philistines, they will inevitably be judged by God.

Will our lives or words and deeds still accidentally stumble to others? For example, you may show enthusiasm for your faith in words but lack love or sincerity in your actions; you may judge your boss and criticize your colleagues at work; you may be too eager to preach the gospel, put pressure on others, and offend others. Or they may show arrogance and lack of humility in their faith. Living an indulgent life, pursuing pleasure, or even being dishonest in finances, character or work, etc.

Let our lives live out the authenticity of faith and attractive testimony without stumbling others.

(3) Remain Faith Neutral Antichrist

Tyre and Sidon were Phoenician seaports and the most prosperous trading centres in the entire Mediterranean. Tire and Sidon became proud of their prosperity, considered themselves gods, and boasted of their wealth and status. When the Philistines admired and formed an alliance with them, they were enemies of God, and therefore they were also subject to judgment in the eyes of God. Not only that, Tire and Sidon often betrayed Israel and sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem into slavery for their own benefit. Therefore, we see that Tire, Sidon, and even the Philistines have no position and are only interested in their own interests. Wherever it is good for themselves, they will stand with him and form an alliance. The result will be judgment and destruction by God.

Brothers and sisters, we must clearly understand our faith stance and must not compromise out of fear. If we should take a stand to support the truth and stand with the Lord, but we remain silent due to environmental pressure, social expectations, or some reasons, this is a disguised form of resistance to the truth and antichrist which will be judged by God.

(4) Completely cut off the root causes of sin

The island of Caphtor, also known as Crete, is where the ancestors of the Philistines lived and was their original origin. God’s judgment on the Philistines was to completely uproot their roots. This teaches us that when dealing with sin in our lives, we must never tolerate it, but we must seriously and thoroughly cut off the root of sin. As the saying goes, if the grass is cut without removing the root, it will grow again when the spring breeze blows.

2. When will God’s judgment end? (v5-7)

Many times, when people are being judged or disciplined by God, they hope that God will be merciful and let these sufferings pass quickly. But like the Philistines, when they asked God when will judgment cease? Instead, God asked them, “How long will it take for you to cut yourself with a sword? Therefore, if we hope that God can end the judgment, we must:

(1) Know how to respect the body

Jeremiah said that when God’s judgment comes, when Gaza is completely razed to the ground and Ashkelon is reduced to nothing, the Philistines will mourn like the Gentiles who cut themselves with a sword.

When a loved one dies, the Canaanites will cut their body with a knife to express their sorrow. This is a Canaanite custom. They also worshiped in this way when they worshiped idols, so Leviticus mentioned that this was forbidden by God.

Nowadays, many young people are assimilated by the family and think tattooing is an art. But the Bible has long mentioned that cutting the body with a knife is displeasing to God.

In addition, the body was created by God and redeemed by the Lord Jesus Christ with his life. When we encounter difficulties and despair, we have no right to destroy it or easily want to end our lives. Scripture reminds us to take care of our bodies. As the temple of the Holy Spirit, we should not allow our bodies to be defiled by Canaanite customs or idolatry rituals. For example, committing adultery, fornication, pornography, masturbation, etc. In addition, drug or alcohol abuse, overeating or an unhealthy lifestyle, laziness and lack of exercise, and failure to give reasonable rest can all damage the body God has given us. Although physical exercise cannot replace spiritual growth, being healthy can serve God better and live a life that glorifies God and benefits others.

(2) Understand true repentance

V6-7 Jeremiah describes that when the Philistines were being judged and in great pain and sorrow, they would cry out to God, hoping that God’s sword would be stopped. God did not answer.

Why did God let Jeremiah prophesy to the Philistines? According to God’s attributes of mercy and love, I believe that as long as the Philistines are willing to repent, God will definitely give them a way out. But it is a pity that they want God to stop the sword, but they are not willing to truly repent. The result is that it really dies.

Let our repentance not be an escape from pain, but repentance from the heart. And bring about the transformation of spiritual life and move towards God’s blessing again.

Conclusion:

In the redemption grace of 5785 years and in these 40 days of praying with God to dream, let us have a life of true repentance. Completely cut off the roots of sin in our lives, bravely stand by our faith, and redeem our body’s spiritual or physical health. Let our lives not only not stumble others, but also attract others to come to the Lord and escape the judgment of eternal death.

一、正视一切的虚假!(V1)

这章经文揭示神对列国的审判,特别是对埃及的军事力量的嘲讽和无力感。虽然埃及一度是列国畏惧的强大国家,拥有庞大的军力和自信的领袖,但最终也在神的审判下不堪一击。埃及被神揭穿了虚假的安全感,因而成为一个警示。

我们要留心听,摆脱虚假的安全感。神的审判揭示出世俗的虚假平安,而我们要追寻与神同心的真实平安,靠神筑梦,而非自己编造幻想。

二、放下你自己的“以为”!(V2-26)

从以下的几个点,我们要放下自己,重建真实的依靠。

1.强大的武力可以保护你?(V2-6)

这里描绘了埃及强大的军队,他们自信满满,装备齐全,但在巴比伦军队面前却如浮萍般被 击垮。埃及的军事力量无法保住他们,象征着人们依赖外在力量,甚至偶像的自大和盲目。

2.好的策略就能获得成功?(V7-12)

埃及依赖自己制定的策略,排兵布阵,试图战胜巴比伦。然而,再好的计谋在神的面前都如 纸般脆弱,失败不可避免。人类的策略在面对神的大能时,无能为力。我们可以制订计划, 但若没有神的祝福和引导,这些计划很难长久,甚至最后我们努力地靠自己却没成功。只有 当我们在策划中放下自己,完全依靠神,才会看到真正的果效。

3.自己拥有很可靠的靠山?(V13-26)

耶利米传达了神对埃及君王和偶像的审判,暴露了他们虚妄的依靠。埃及的靠山在神的审判 中不堪一击,提醒我们任何非神的靠山,最终都无法支撑我们。依赖权势、地位如同住在未 加固的大厦,外表看似稳固但其实摇摇欲坠。神是我们稳固的根基,在祂里头我们可以毫无 惧怕。

Introduction: Dreaming vs. Building Dreams

I. Confronting All Falsehood! (V1)

This chapter reveals God’s judgment upon the nations, especially mocking and exposing Egypt’s military strength and its ultimate vulnerability. Although Egypt was once a powerful nation that instilled fear with its large military and confident leaders, it ultimately proved powerless under God’s judgment. God exposed Egypt’s false sense of security, turning it into a warning.

We should listen closely and break free from a false sense of security. God’s judgment reveals the deception of worldly peace, and we are called to seek true peace aligned with God, building dreams with Him rather than crafting our own illusions.

II. Let Go of Your Own Assumptions! (V2-26)

From the following points, we need to let go of self-reliance and rebuild genuine dependence on God.

1. Can great military power protect you? (V2-6)

This passage depicts Egypt’s powerful army, brimming with confidence and well-equipped, but they are defeated by Babylon as easily as reeds are blown over. Egypt’s military might could not save it, symbolizing the arrogance and blindness of relying on external forces or idols.

2. Will good strategies guarantee success? (V7-12)

Egypt relied on its own strategies and military formations to try to defeat Babylon. Yet, no matter how elaborate their plans were, they crumbled before God, making failure inevitable. Human strategies are powerless before God’s mighty hand. We can plan, but without God’s blessing and guidance, these plans often fail. True results come only when we let go of our ego in planning and depend fully on God.

3. Is your support system truly reliable? (V13-26)

Jeremiah conveyed God’s judgment against the Egyptian king and their idols, revealing their hollow sources of support. Egypt’s idol failed under God’s judgment, reminding us that any support system other than God will ultimately fail. Depending on power or status is like living in an unreinforced building—appearing solid but weak in reality. God is our secure foundation, in whom we can have no fear.

III. Awaken Courageously, for God is with You! (V27-28)

In this passage, God tells Israel, “Do not fear.” God calls out twice, “Do not fear, my servant Jacob,” not only to comfort them but to awaken them, reminding them that regardless of their circumstances, God is with them and will protect them. Egypt’s downfall becomes a testimony of God’s comfort for Israel. When we truly awaken from fear and build dreams together with God, His presence becomes our greatest strength.

Conclusion: Build dreams with God, and awaken from falsehood!

一、忠心服事神的巴录(V1)

这里记录了在约雅敬王第四年,巴录开始了他和耶利米的同工,将耶利米所说的预言写下来,成为耶利米非常忠心的同工。巴录和耶利米真是患难之交、同进同退。耶利米受苦被毁谤,他也一起受苦面对毁谤;甚至他所写的书还被国王撕开、烧掉,于是他又重写一遍,这真是一位忠心服事神的好文士、好仆人。

二、神知道巴录的愁苦(V2-3)

巴录是一位忠心事奉神的人,他的任务是帮助先知耶利米记录和传讲神的话。然而,在他执行这一使命的过程中,面临了极大的压力与痛苦。当巴录将耶利米的信息带到圣殿时,他并没有得到应有的接纳,反而因为传达了神关于审判的信息,遭到了君王的愤怒与追捕。巴录不仅为国家的未来忧虑,更因事工上的困境而深感痛苦,几乎无法承受。神却在这个时候通过耶利米对他说:我知道你的愁苦。

巴录的经历告诉我们,神并不忽视我们在事奉中的痛苦与挑战。即便我们忠心地跟随神,执行祂的旨意,我们仍然会遇到家庭问题、工作压力…。因此,记得巴录的经历,记得神的话语:“我知道你的愁苦。” 神是我们的避难所和力量。在基督里,我们可以找到安慰和力量,继续前行。

三、神是掌权一切的主(V4)

神也借着巴录的遭遇,把一个很重要的真理告诉巴录,祂是掌权的主!神要让巴录明白:我所建立的我必拆毁,我所栽植的我必拔出,在全地我都如此行。以色列的兴亡由始至终都是神的作为,神的审判必然来临。

神的话语是要我们明白,如果想要靠自己的努力,去躲藏或者摆脱环境是不可能的;约伯也是没有办法离开神给他安排的环境。所以,我们要看见神的主权,才可能在任何环境里先得到平安!

四、不要为己图谋大事(V5)

这里看起来好像是神对巴录的警告,但其实里面包含神极深的爱,是要来安慰巴录,应许他必能保命脱困,所以在愁苦里,不必为自己图谋大事,因为这是老我的自然反应。

我们要脱离‘为自己图谋大事’的这个误区,首先一定要看见神的主权!我们才能逆境里,仍然顺服信靠神;而不会一面做神要我做的事,然后还得图谋给自己找一点后路。因为全地都倾覆了,人想要的那种退路能在哪儿呢?当我们能够不再图谋己事地跟随神,这就是对神的信心的体现。

总结:

神的的慈爱在对巴录的劝勉中显明了!求神拿走我们为自己图谋大事的心,顺服在神的安排里,成为被神看顾的忠心仆人;在末世的日子,性命得保全!

1. Baruch’s Faithful Service to God (V1)

This chapter records the fourth year of King Jehoiakim’s reign when Baruch began working alongside Jeremiah, writing down the prophecies Jeremiah spoke. Baruch became Jeremiah’s loyal coworker, sharing in both the joy and hardships. When Jeremiah faced suffering and slander, Baruch also endured it; even when the king tore up and burned the writings, Baruch faithfully rewrote them. He exemplified a faithful scribe and servant devoted to God.

2. God Knows Baruch’s Sorrow (V2-3)

Baruch was a faithful servant of God, assisting the prophet Jeremiah in recording and delivering God’s words. But as he carried out this mission, he faced immense pressure and hardship. When Baruch brought Jeremiah’s messages to the temple, instead of acceptance, he faced the king’s anger and pursuit due to the words of judgment he conveyed. Baruch was worried not only for his nation’s future but also due to the difficulties of the ministry, feeling nearly overwhelmed. At this time, God spoke to him through Jeremiah, saying, “I know your sorrow.”

Baruch’s experience reminds us that God does not ignore the pain and challenges we encounter in serving Him. Even when we follow God faithfully and carry out His will, we still face family issues, work stress… So, remember Baruch’s experience and God’s words, “I know your sorrow.” God is our refuge and strength, and in Christ, we can find comfort and strength to keep moving forward.

3. God Is the Sovereign Lord (V4)

Through Baruch’s trials, God revealed an essential truth to him: God has sovereignty over all things. God wanted Baruch to understand, “What I have built I will break down, and what I have planted I will pluck up; that is , this whole land.” The rise and fall of Israel were entirely within God’s control, and His judgment would certainly come.

God’s words teach us that it’s impossible to rely on our efforts to escape or avoid difficult situations; Job couldn’t escape the circumstances God arranged for him either. Therefore, recognizing God’s sovereignty is the only way to find peace in any situation.

4. Do Not Seek Great Things for Ourselves (V5)

Here, it seems as if God is warning Baruch, but it’s actually a message filled with deep love intended to comfort him, promising that he would survive and escape his troubles. Thus, in the midst of sorrow, there’s no need to seek great things for oneself—such thoughts arise from our sinful nature.

To break free from the error of “seeking great things for ourselves,” we must first recognize God’s sovereignty. Only then can we submit and trust in God amid adversity, without trying to create a backup plan for ourselves. The world is in upheaval, so where can we truly find a safe retreat? When we can follow God without seeking personal gain, this reflects true faith in Him.

Conclusion:

God’s love for Baruch shines through His words of encouragement. May God remove our desire to seek great things for ourselves, allowing us to submit to His will and become faithful servants watched over by Him, preserving our lives in the end times.

引言:迷失的回头路

一、自我抉择的陷阱(V1-6)

神借着耶利米向这些定居在埃及,仍执迷不悟、敬拜偶像的以色列百姓最后一次预言。犹大人在埃及地延续偶像崇拜,似乎丝毫不记得神曾为他们做的事,以致神的公义审判临到犹大地。

神的心意是要百姓以他为唯一的依靠,而不是在环境困难时转向其他源头。当我们生活中面临艰难时,是会选择信靠神,还是如同犹大人般寻找其他“拯救”?

二、不可逃脱的审判(V7-14)

神明确表示,那些选择离弃他的百姓将面临无法逃避的后果。对那些逃往埃及的百姓,审判已经确定,他们所信赖的埃及也无法拯救他们。埃及不但不能救他们,反而会被巴比伦征服。这一切都显示了,若依赖错误的对象,最终的结果只会是失望。

因此,我们要常常警惕我们自己不要陷入在假安全感里,因为真正的安全感来自信靠神。

三、拒绝悔改的危险(V15-19)

这段经文描述了犹大人对耶利米的回应,他们顽固地认为祭拜偶像带来了幸福,犹大人认为自己以前敬拜偶像时有繁荣生活,所以拒绝悔改。这种态度表明他们的心已经完全被自义蒙蔽,无法看清真相。

犹大人这种自义与顽梗的心态,使他们已不再觉得自己需要神。这种自我欺骗会让我们沉迷在错误中,难以回头。

四、自招毁灭的下场(V20-30)

神指出,那些背弃他的人将会在埃及地被刀剑吞灭,成为历史的记号。这个结果带出了悖逆所带来的严重后果。犹大民将为他们的选择带来不可逆转的悔恨,也付上了极大的代价。这里的描述不仅是对他们的惩罚,也是对未来世代的警示。

因此,在我们做抉择的时候,我们要思考自己的选择是否符合神的心意,在关键时刻做出信靠神的决定。

总结:回到神的道路

悔改是摆脱属灵枷锁的唯一途径。
神呼召我们在每个选择中忠于他,尤其是在最艰难的时刻。

Introduction: The Lost Way Back

1. The trap of self-choice (V1-6)

God used Jeremiah to prophesy for the last time to the Israelites who settled in Egypt and were still stubborn and worshiping idols. The people of Judah continued to worship idols in the land of Egypt, seemingly not remembering what God had done for them, so God’s righteous judgment came to the land of Judah.

God’s intention is for the people to rely on Him as their only source of support, rather than turning to other sources when circumstances are difficult. When we face difficulties in life, do we choose to trust God, or do we look for other “salvation” like the people of Judah?

2. Inescapable judgment (V7-14)

God made it clear that those who chose to forsake His people would face inescapable consequences. Judgment has been set for the people who fled to Egypt, and Egypt, in which they trusted, could not save them. Not only could Egypt not be able to save them, but it would be conquered by Babylon. All this goes to show that relying on the wrong objects can only lead to disappointment.

Therefore, we must always be careful not to fall into false security, because true security comes from trusting God.

3. The danger of refusing to repent (V15-19)

This passage describes the response of the people of Judah to Jeremiah. They stubbornly believed that worshiping idols brought happiness. The people of Judah believed that they had a prosperous life before worshiping idols, so they refused to repent. This attitude shows that their minds have been completely blinded by self-righteousness and unable to see the truth.

The self-righteous and stubborn mentality of the Judah people made them no longer feel that they needed God. This kind of self-deception can keep us stuck in our mistakes and make it difficult to turn back.

4. The consequences of self-inflicted destruction (V20-30)

God pointed out that those who deserted Him would be devoured by the sword in the land of Egypt and become a mark of history. This result brings out the serious consequences of disobedience. The people of Judah will suffer irreversible regret for their choice and pay a heavy price. The description here is not only a punishment for them, but also a warning to future generations.

Therefore, when we make a choice, we must consider whether our choice is in line with God’s will and make the decision to trust God at critical moments.

Conclusion: Return to God’s Way

Repentance is the only way to be freed from spiritual chains.
God calls us to be faithful to Him in every choice, especially in the toughest of times.

1 耶和华我的力量啊,我爱你。
2 耶和华是我的岩石,我的山寨,我的救主,我的神,我的磐石,我所投靠的。他是我的盾牌,是
拯救我的角,是我的高台。
3 我要求告当赞美的耶和华。这样我必从仇敌手中被救出来。
4 曾有死亡的绳索缠绕我。匪类的急流使我惊惧。
5 阴间的绳索缠绕我。死亡的网罗临到我。

33 他使我的脚快如母鹿的蹄,又使我在高处安稳。

1 耶和华啊,求你听闻公义,侧耳听我的呼吁。求你留心听我这不出于诡诈嘴唇的祈祷。
2 愿我的判语从你面前发出。愿你的眼睛观看公正。
3 你已经试验我的心。你在夜间鉴察我。你熬炼我,却找不着什么。我立志叫我口中没有过失。
4 论到人的行为,我借着你嘴唇的言语,自己谨守,不行强暴人的道路。
5 我的脚踏定了你的路径,我的两脚未曾滑跌。
6 神啊,我曾求告你,因为你必应允我。求你向我侧耳,听我的言语。

【三‘敢’:敢问、敢听、敢跟】

引言:条款及细则

一、敢问敢听却不敢跟 (V1-7)

在上一章,百姓向耶利米请求带领他们寻求神的心意,希望在混乱与不安的局势中找到安全之道。十天后,神借着耶利米清楚指示他们不要逃往埃及,而是继续留在犹大地,依靠神的保护。然而,百姓却因神的回答不符合他们的预期,转而怀疑耶利米的忠诚,甚至指责他受巴录的操控,故意传达他们不想听的答案。

百姓的逻辑是,留在犹大太冒险了,若前往埃及,则能暂时避开巴比伦的压迫,掌握“自主权”。他们所追求的是表面上的安全,而非真正依靠神的应许。因此,他们的“不敢跟”是因为自身的骄傲和局限,无法看见神的智慧和保守的指引。这种不信和骄傲让他们选择怀疑耶利米,并以巴录为“替罪羊”,掩盖自己拒绝神指引的行为。

有时,我们也会请求神的引导,但若神的回答不符合我们预期,我们可能会质疑神或执意按自己的想法行事。这提醒我们真正的信心不仅在于敢于祈求,更在于敢于顺服神的回应。

二、不敢跟的后果自负 (V8-13)

尽管百姓决定逃往埃及,但神的审判并没有因他们的逃离而改变。耶利米在埃及继续传达神的信息,预言巴比伦将会攻打埃及,埃及也将面临刀剑、掳掠和死亡。神的权柄超越了地理边界,祂的审判不会因人逃避而改变。百姓的“不敢跟”不仅未能为他们带来平安,反而让他们在远离神的地方面临更加严厉的审判。

有些人以为换一个环境就能摆脱问题,或认为逃避就能避开后果。好比一位学生因成绩不好而选择转校,心想换个地方就能有新开始。然而,他并没有努力改正自己的学习态度和方法,结果在新环境中依旧表现不佳。问题的根源不在环境,而在于自己的态度和行为。逃避并不能解决问题,反而可能让我们面对更大的困境。

总结:打碎骄傲与不信,谦卑依靠神的恩典事奉

神呼召我们不仅要敢问祂的心意,还要有勇气顺从祂的引导。这意味着,我们需要打破自我的框框,放下自我的骄傲,谦卑地依靠神的恩典而非自己的智慧行事。愿我们效法耶利米,不因环境或人的声音而偏离,真正做到“敢问、敢听、敢跟”,以此荣耀神的名。

Introduction:

1. Dare to ask, dare to listen but dare not follow (V1-7)

In the previous chapter, the people asked Jeremiah to lead them in seeking God’s will, hoping to find a way to safety amidst the chaos and unrest. Ten days later, God gave them clear instructions through Jeremiah not to flee to Egypt, but to remain in Judah and rely on God’s protection. However, because God’s answer did not meet their expectations, the people began to doubt Jeremiah’s loyalty and even accused him of being manipulated by Baruch and deliberately conveying answers they did not want to hear.

The people’s logic was that it was too risky to stay in Judah. If they went to Egypt, they could temporarily avoid Babylonian oppression and gain “autonomy.” They seek apparent security rather than true reliance on God’s promises. Therefore, their “dare not follow” is due to their own pride and limitations, and their inability to see God’s wisdom and protective guidance. This unbelief and pride made them choose to doubt Jeremiah and use Baruch as a “scapegoat” to cover up their rejection of God’s guidance.

Sometimes, we ask God for guidance, but if God’s answer does not meet our expectations, we may question God or insist on doing things according to our own ideas. This reminds us that true faith lies not only in daring to ask, but also in daring to obey God’s response.

2. Don’t dare to follow at your own risk (V8-13)

Although the people decided to flee to Egypt, God’s judgment did not change because of their escape. Jeremiah continued to convey God’s message in Egypt, predicting that Babylon would attack Egypt and that Egypt would also face sword, captivity, and death. God’s authority transcends geographical boundaries, and His judgment will not change because people evade it. The people’s “dare not follow” not only failed to bring them peace, but instead caused them to face more severe judgment in a place far away from God.

Some people think that they can get rid of the problem by changing the environment, or that they can avoid the consequences by running away. It’s like a student who chooses to change schools because of poor grades, thinking that he can have a new start in a different place. However, he made no effort to correct his learning attitude and methods, and as a result, he still performed poorly in the new environment. The root of the problem is not the environment, but your own attitudes and behaviours. Avoiding will not solve the problem but may make us face greater difficulties.

Conclusion: Break pride and unbelief, serve humbly and rely on God’s grace

God calls us not only to dare to ask His will, but also to have the courage to obey His guidance. This means we need to break out of our own egos, swallow our pride, and humbly rely on God’s grace rather than our own wisdom. May we imitate Jeremiah and not be deviated by the environment or people’s voices, and truly “dare to ask, dare to listen, and dare to follow”, thereby glorifying God’s name.
