A Lifestyle That Honors God

The Morning Devotion Speaker: Ps Daniel
1. Love should respond now (V1-3)
Six days later, Jesus would be crucified. He did not escape but faced the moment of glory. When he arrived in Bethany, Mary anointed His feet with expensive ointment and wiped them with her hair. She did not wait but gave the most precious present to the Lord. True love does not hesitate, and gives the best in time, leaving no room for error.
2. Don’t care about people’s criticism (V4-6)
When Mary offered perfume, Judas criticized her and said she should sell the perfume to help the poor, but the Bible reveals that he was greedy for money. When you truly glorify God, it is inevitable that people will criticize you and even hide your selfish desires under the guise of spirituality. Don’t retreat because of people’s views and continue to offer your love to God; we live for the Lord, not for people’s applause!
3. The Lord affirms the sincere offering (V7-8)
Jesus defended Mary, saying, "she has kept this for the day of My burial." Mary responded sensitively to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Although she did not fully understand, she seized the opportunity to offer it and received Jesus' affirmation.
4. True testimony attracts people (V9-11)
The resurrection of Lazarus shocked the whole world, and many people believed in Jesus because of it. The chief priests were jealous and wanted to get rid of Lazarus as well, but no one could stop God's work! A life changed by God is the most powerful testimony, which naturally attracts people to turn to the Lord.
1. The crowds warmly welcomed Jesus (V12-19)
Although the government persecuted Jesus severely, when He came to Jerusalem, the people warmly welcomed Him! Among these people who warmly welcomed Jesus, some people really believed in Him, but there were also many people who just cheered with the crowd. After Jesus was arrested, they also shouted with the crowd: Get rid of him! This is the terrible crowd effect!
2. Wheat cannot bear fruit unless it dies (V20-30)
When the Greeks sought Jesus, the Lord knew that the moment of glory had come. He compared himself to wheat that fell to the ground and died, bringing a harvest of life to the world. Facing the pain of the cross, Jesus struggled but still willingly obeyed, only wanting to glorify the Father!
3. Believe in the light while you have it (V31-36)
Jesus exhorted everyone: Believe in the light while you have it, so as not to fall into darkness.
Summary: The road to glorifying God is often accompanied by misunderstanding, self-sacrifice, and struggle, but God will use everything to achieve His glory. This road is not about applause, but sacrifice. Jesus did not ask to be exempted from the bitter cup, but to ask the Father to be glorified. May we choose light in the darkness, walk in the truth, and bring greater blessings.
1. Seeing miracles but still having a hard heart (V37-43)
Although Jesus performed many miracles, people’s hearts were hardened, and they still did not believe and were unwilling to repent.
2. Trusting in Jesus is to glorify God (V44-50)
Jesus came to save, not to judge. He is the light that illuminates the darkness.
The response to glorifying God is to trust in Jesus and give the darkness of life to Him. To glorify God is not to ‘do a lot of things’, but to ‘truly believe’ and live according to what He says.
To glorify God is not a verbal promise, but to walk the path of obedience, sacrifice and trust with life like Jesus. The cross is not a failure, but the most glorious victory! May we choose to glorify God and let the world see the glory of the Lord!
