Revelation 7: The Seal of Salvation in the Great TribulationGK611 Morning Devotion 12.02.2026 Speaker: Ps Daniel Kew I. A Pause in Judgment, the Seal Comes First (Rev. 7:1–3) 1. God Presses the Pause Button in Mercy (V1–3) John saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds. God commanded them, “Wait! Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” Before disaster falls, God’s primary concern is not to punish the wicked, but to identify and protect His children. Before any “storm” of life arrives, make sure you are clearly marked with God’s seal: draw near to Him daily, confess your sins, live in obedience, and allow the Holy Spirit to seal your forehead—that is, let the lordship of Christ be clearly manifested in your life. 2. The 144,000 Sealed Soldiers (V4–8) John heard the number of those who were sealed from the tribes of Israel—144,000 in total. This reveals God’s sovereignty and precision. He knows every single name! To be prepared as one who is sealed is to live a life that is “known by God”: not flowing along with the crowd, not turning to Him only when trouble comes, but faithfully following Him now. Whether Jew or Gentile, God desires to place upon your life the seal of salvation that declares, “You belong to Me.” II. The Seal Brings Eternal Victory (Rev. 7:9–17) 1. A Great Multitude in White Worships God (V9–12) John saw “a great multitude that no one could count,” from every nation, tribe, people, and language. They were wearing white robes, holding palm branches, and bowing in worship. The Great Tribulation cannot stop God’s salvation—it only magnifies His glory. The seal of redemption is not based on race, but on belonging to God. To be prepared as one who is sealed means sharing the gospel, living out your testimony, and inviting more people into God’s kingdom so that more may receive white robes. 2. Coming Out of the Great Tribulation (V13–14) An elder explained that this group in white robes had “come out of the great tribulation.” They had washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. This reveals that their salvation came through real persecution, yet they were preserved. Their purity comes from the blood of the Lamb—it is grace, not the result of self-effort. The tribulations of life cannot stain the seal of salvation. Yet daily we must come before the “blood of the Lamb,” confessing our uncleanness and receiving cleansing by faith. The seal ensures we are not condemned, and the cleansing blood enables us to live a holy life worthy of that seal. 3. The Lamb Shepherds and Wipes Away Tears (V15–17) In the end, all earthly suffering—hunger, thirst, scorching heat, and tears—will be personally wiped away by God. The Lamb becomes the Shepherd. The ultimate result of the seal of salvation is entering into God’s eternal presence. When you weep now, lift your eyes to the coming reward. To live out the seal of salvation is to continue serving, trusting, and looking to Him even in tribulation. For the gentle hands of the Father are already prepared to wipe away every tear. Conclusion: How Should We Prepare Today? Preparation is not anxiously calculating how many places remain among the 144,000. Preparation is putting on your white robe daily and polishing the seal on your forehead—believing, even in an age of rising disasters, that the Lamb is shepherding and that every tear will be wiped away. We are not waiting for the end of disaster. We are waiting for the One who will receive us.
