Psalm 32
Experiencing God through Repentance

The Morning Devotion Speaker: Ps Daniel
David exclaimed at the beginning, "How blessed it is to be forgiven!" This is the joy of a blessed person. He has experienced the darkness of being separated from God because of sin, and now he has been forgiven again. He described this state as "blessed"! Then there is the response of people. Only when people no longer harbour deceit and are willing to be honest and frank, can they truly live in the "blessing" given by God.
God is pleased when we come before Him sincerely, no longer harbouring double minds and pretending to be spiritual. Because only real people can enjoy true forgiveness and freedom. God will greatly bless honest people; God will surely comfort and heal those with an open heart.
What David described was not just physical pain, but spiritual dryness. He refused to confess his sins and chose silence, but his pain only intensified.
Sin will not disappear on its own. It will only become heavier and heavier as it is hidden. God sometimes allows us drought and pain in order to lead us to repent, surrender to God, and restore our relationship with Him.
Both "statement" and "confession" represent active and thorough confession of sin, which means knowing that one has offended God and truly repenting from the heart. When David was willing to truly repent, God immediately forgave him.
Don't wait for God to use circumstances and pressure to force us to confess. Confessing to God is not giving in but surrendering to the Lord who heals us. When we confess and repent, God's forgiveness is immediate and does not count past accounts.
1. Repentance is covered (V6-7)
David reminds us that repentance is not waiting for thunder and rain to hug God’s thigh but running into His arms while the door of grace is not closed. Prayer is not the last button for help, but the first shelter.
Repentance is hiding in God’s hiding place. He not only protects us, but also personally guides us to take the next step.
2. Repent and be guided (V8-9)
God is not a God who stands by and watches coldly. He is willing to focus on us and personally show us the way we should go. However, some Christians are stubborn and ignorant mules and horses. They clearly went the wrong way, but still said to God: “Will you bless me on this road?”
Those who repent not only get forgiveness but also get guidance! From lost and ignorant mules and horses to disciples who walk with God!
3. Repent and Rejoice (V10-11)
Sinners think they are free, but in fact their hearts are full of anxiety and burdens. The righteous are surrounded by the loving care of God! Rely on God to be happy!
After repentance, life is no longer heavy, but singing, dancing, cheering, and joy flows from the heart! The end of repentance is not heavy confession, but joyful praise!
Repentance is not just about admitting mistakes, but also a journey of truly encountering God and renewing life. When we are willing to turn back, God not only forgives us, but also restores us and makes us rejoice again! May we all truly experience God's forgiveness, healing, and joy through repentance!
